Scam Description

Public Warning: Unethical Practices at Foxworth Global Nig Ltd and Foxworth Global Holdings Ltd

I am writing this to bring to the public’s attention the dishonest and unethical practices of Elijah Coker, the owner of Foxworth Global Nig Ltd in Nigeria and Foxworth Global Holdings Ltd in Durango, Colorado, USA.

On September 17th, I, along with four other colleagues, was employed by Foxworth Global Nig Ltd. We were issued offer letters, onboarded virtually, and assigned various tasks. The company does not have a physical office in Nigeria, so we operated online. We worked diligently, expecting to be paid at the end of the month as per our employment agreement. However, when payday came, Elijah Coker, with the assistance of his HR, Adedoyin Odenuga, began giving excuses and false promises, refusing to pay our salaries.

This deceitful behavior didn’t stop there. A few weeks ago, the company’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), who had recruited us, was also dismissed because Elijah refused to pay him. Despite multiple assignments and long hours of work, no staff has been compensated to date. Elijah Coker has consistently lied, avoided responsibilities, and failed to honor his obligations to his employees.

At one point, Elijah falsely claimed the company was closing, only to later ask us to continue working with promises of payment that never materialized. Yesterday, after another round of empty promises, he announced the business closure again and claimed he would settle outstanding payments before the end of the year. Since then, he has blocked all staff members and deleted his social media accounts on platforms like Facebook and Instagram.

We, the affected staff, are calling on the public, relevant authorities, and anyone who can assist in holding Elijah Coker accountable for his actions. We also warn others to avoid working for Foxworth Global Nig Ltd or Foxworth Global Holdings Ltd to prevent falling victim to this scam. No one should have to endure the stress of working without being compensated.

If you have any information that can help bring Elijah Coker to justice, please come forward.

ScamCheckup Tips

Immediate Actions to Take

  1. Document Everything: Collect all communication records—emails, messages, offer letters, task assignments, and any other proof of employment and completed work. This documentation will be essential if you decide to escalate the case to labor authorities, seek legal assistance, or make a public appeal.

  1. Report to Local Labor Authorities: If Foxworth Global Nig Ltd is registered in Nigeria, report the unpaid wages to the appropriate labor board. You may file a complaint with the Ministry of Labour and Employment in Nigeria, which handles employee grievances, or seek guidance from the Industrial Court. Even if the company has no physical office in Nigeria, it could still be held accountable under Nigerian labor laws if it operates within the country.

  1. Report to International Authorities: Since Foxworth Global Holdings Ltd is listed in the U.S., report this issue to the Department of Labor in the U.S., as unpaid wages and fraudulent employment practices are taken seriously there. The U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division (WHD) has offices and a toll-free number where complaints can be filed against non-compliant companies operating in the U.S. or hiring remote workers from abroad.

  1. Seek Legal Counsel: If feasible, consult with a labor attorney who specializes in employment law for international cases. They could advise on any potential legal actions, like issuing a demand letter or even proceeding with a lawsuit for unpaid wages. Additionally, a lawyer can help you navigate both Nigerian and U.S. laws for cross-border employment issues.
  2.  Public Awareness: Consider reporting the scam to online platforms like LinkedIn, Glassdoor, or Indeed if you found the job posting there. Writing reviews or warnings on employment forums helps others avoid similar situations. It sounds like you’re already taking action by sharing your story on ScamCheckup.com, which is a great step.
